Local GoveRning Committee

The Local Governing Committee (LGC) plays an important role in the strategic leadership and governance of Harper Green School. Working in partnership with the Headteacher, senior leaders and Leverhulme Church of England and Community Trust, the committee provides support, challenge and oversight to help ensure the school delivers the highest standards of education and continues to improve.

Our governors bring a wide range of professional skills, knowledge and experience, helping to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of our students, staff and wider school community.

The Local Governing Committee recognises the importance of diversity of skills, knowledge, experience and perspectives. Having a broad range of backgrounds and viewpoints enables governors to make informed decisions that reflect the needs of our students, families, staff and wider community.

The committee regularly reviews its own effectiveness, including its diversity and has agreed actions that will be monitored as part of its ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
