Mental Health Support Teams

Harper Green are proud to have an ongoing partnership with MHST (Mental Health Support Teams). This is a service provided by Bolton CAMHS working alongside select schools to provide three core functions.

  • To deliver evidence-based interventions for mild-to-moderate mental health issues
  • Support the senior mental health lead (where established) in each school or college to introduce or develop their whole school or college approach (WSA)
  • Give timely advice to school and college staff and liaise with external specialist services to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education.

Each team is made up of Trainee and Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs), Children & Young People Wellbeing Practitioners (CYWP), Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners, Mental Health Practitioners (senior clinicians) and a Participation Worker.

Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) are designed to provide Early Intervention and Prevention support to children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and generally support the emotional wellbeing culture of schools and colleges. MHST work alongside us to strengthen our mental health provision.
