EAL Students Visit Bolton Central Library and Museum
Tuesday, 1st October 2024
On Monday, 30th September 2024, our EAL students visited Bolton Central Library and Museum to learn more about the local culture and community resources. The group was fortunate to have the entire Library and Museum to themselves, allowing for a unique and personalised experience.
Wendy, the Learning and Access Supervisor at the museum, provided a guided tour, sharing insights into the key areas of the library and museum while answering the group’s many questions. Her enthusiasm for the resources available encouraged our students to engage fully with their surroundings.
After the tour, the students divided into small groups to take part in activities organised by Harper Green staff. They started with a scavenger hunt in the Egyptian Museum, which the students thoroughly enjoyed, before moving on to the History Museum and bird exhibition, where students chose their favourite birds or animals to sketch.
The trip concluded at the Aquarium, where a quiz was set up to test the students' newfound knowledge. Overall, the day was a fantastic success, providing our EAL students with valuable experiences, creativity and an appreciation for their local history and culture.
