Duke of Edinburgh Award Students Contribute 741 Hours of Volunteering to Local Community

Our Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) students have been recognised for the positive impact they have made within the local community this year, contributing an impressive 741 hours of volunteering.
As part of their DofE journey, students have supported a wide range of organisations and initiatives, helping others while developing valuable skills and experiences. Activities have included coaching younger children in sports and dance, supporting local events, assisting in charity shops, helping libraries and places of worship, caring for animals, and taking part in environmental projects such as litter picking and gardening.
Students have also supported food banks, youth groups and elderly residents, demonstrating a strong commitment to giving back to their communities. Collectively, their efforts generated an estimated social value of £5,593.
Ruth Marvel OBE, CEO of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, said: "Volunteering gives young people the chance to make a real difference in their communities while developing skills, confidence and experiences that can help shape their futures."
