Over 500 Custard Donations Collected for Urban Outreach Christmas Hampers
Monday, 2nd December 2024
To mark the start of the festive season, our staff and student body have come together to collect and donate over 500 cartons and tins of custard to the local charity Urban Outreach. Thanks to the generosity of our entire Harper Green community, we exceeded our initial target, reflecting a heart warming spirit of unity and giving.
Urban Outreach is a Christian charity that provides food for families in crisis and supports vulnerable individuals in Bolton. With the generous donations, many more families will receive Christmas hampers this year. Having partnered with Urban Outreach for several years, we are proud to continue contributing to their vital work, especially during the festive season when it means so much.
Ms Heppenstall, Headteacher said, “Having worked with Urban Outreach in previous years, we know how much of a difference our contributions can make, especially at Christmas. It has been truly heartening to witness our community come together to support such an important cause."
The custard collection also sparked friendly inter-house competition, with staff and students clearing the local supermarket shelves in a bid to fill up their house bins to become the overall house winners for the most custard collected.
As we approach the end of term, we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Christmas. “With each goal we conquer, we’re on a roll like a perfectly set custard!”
