UPDATE: 22.05.2020

Dear Parent/Carer

I hope that this message finds you safe and well during this challenging time for all. Firstly I  would like to thank you for all your support in ensuring your child engages with the online work our teachers have been setting and designing.  We have been very impressed with the quality of the work submitted by students and their engagement. I would like to thank all the staff at Harper Green, as since the lockdown began we have been able to stay open, including over Easter and bank holidays  for the children of the keyworker parents. I have been greatly impressed with the fortitude of the students, the high standard of work, and the effort that a great many are putting into their home learning and seeing this shared on the school Twitter and Facebook accounts.

As you will have heard in the press the government outlined that there should be some “face to face” contact for Y10 students. Over the past week we have made extensive plans to ensure Y10 have some contact with school, especially focusing on their core subjects of Maths, English and Science. We were hoping to implement these plans in early June but the latest advice is to delay any plans until we receive further guidance from the government. Therefore the current situation is that Harper Green will not be bringing students back into school from 1st June  and we will revise our plans accordingly and communicate with parents and students when new information is available.  We will continued to open the school after half term to the students whose parents are key workers.

If you have any concerns regarding your child’s work or welfare then please do not hesitate to contact school. For further updates and information, please visit the school website and follow us on twitter @HarperGreen and on facebook.

Kind regards

Mr Gribbon

Free School Meals – Voucher Scheme

As you may be aware, the government has recently given the go ahead for a national voucher scheme to replace free school meals whilst schools are closed. The scheme involves school emailing an e-code that can be exchanged for a voucher code for your choice of major supermarket. As we are currently in what would be our Easter holiday period, the first vouchers will be available to cover week commencing 13th April 2020.

If you have not already been contacted for your details since 1st April, in order to make sure that you receive your voucher entitlement, please email the following details to invoices@harpergreen.net. (the email address you send your message from will be used to send your voucher codes)

  1. Full name of student
  2. Student’s year group and form
